Can I use AC module in my region?

Dec 5, 2025

Before deciding whether you need an AC module, please first confirm that the array works in your region. You can find more information here: Does the array work in my region?

If the array supports your local voltage and you’re using a compatible power cable, the system will work normally.

However, if you want to include an AC module in your setup, please note that we currently provide only two AC socket versions:

Type-B socket

Recommended in the US, Canada, Mexico, Japan, the Philippines, etc.

Supports Type B plugs and Type A two-pin plugs.

China GB socket

Recommended in Mainland China.

Supports Type-I three-pin and two-pin plugs, and is compatible with Type A non-polarized two-pin plugs in many cases.

Using Type-A plugs on China GB socket

The China GB socket only accepts non-polarized Type-A plugs, which have two pins of equal width.

Polarized Type-A plugs which have one pin wider than the other are not compatible with the China GB socket.

Orientation issue with certain Type-I plugs

Some 90° Type-I plugs have different orientations that may not work well with the China GB version of the AC module.

For example, in Australia and New Zealand, 90° Type-I plugs have the earth pin facing down. When used with the top socket on the AC module, the cable may point forward in an awkward direction.

If you are outside Mainland China and plan to use the China GB AC module, please check your plug orientation before choosing this option.

If your AC devices use a different plug type, the AC module may not be compatible.

We recommend choosing a setup without AC modules in that case.

Additional AC socket standards will be introduced in future module releases based on user demand and regional requirements.
